• This week’s Photo Contest is *Flags* :-)

I have entered along with several other people so march on down to iliveinmycamera and take look at the great photos of our flag.  Once again, if you can decide on just one, be sure to vote for your favorite one   We have until midnight on Friday, July 11, 2008.

I hope you had a GREAT Fourth of July this year and were all safe while celebrating!

Thank you for the compliments and comments about Dottie.  Thank you also for loving Dottie and First Place!  Yes, I finally pried the camera from Andrew’s slick, wet gloved hand and got to take some pictures this time

We found this one on our dive at Mahukona Bay when we went for a dive to check out the ship wreck there.

Dottie is a Whitemouth Moray (Gymnothorax meleagris) also known as Comet Moray and  Guineafowl Moray and is an eel in the fish family of sea life here.  The smile that Dottie appears to have for us may have been due to the thought of dinner being so close of hand   But although Moray eels should be shown respect, they are not as dangerous as rattle snakes.  If you keep a proper distance and don’t reach for or grab at them while observing these magnificent creatures, you will both come away pleasantly content with the experience.  I think they are an extremely graceful animal.  Check out this site: http://www.oceanfootage.com/ for videos of eel, other fish, reptiles and more.

Andy also put some info about the dive and the dive site on his Blog at Darkerview.com.  I will post more dive photos from this dive (and others) soon…I am hoping!  As soon as I get them processed and organized…which will not be until after the Fourth of July celebrations.

For now:  This week’s photo contest is well under way and there are some great entries.  My cats were completely noncooperative until Monday night so I did not enter a photo for the ‘Household Pets *Enjoying Summer*’ subject; but stop by there and peruse the great entries that did have cooperative pets then vote for one (1) that is your favorite if you can narrow it down that far

Hope you all have a SAFE and Festive Fourth of July 2008!!!

  • I am so glad that I take many pictures!!!

Exceptionally glad that I take a lot of pictures that prompted me to  take this picture some time ago…

Because yesterday (June 23, 2008), it was made to look like this…

as the current owners have apparently decided to do major re-landscaping   Sometimes change must be endured… I am anticipating what they will do next…

Best Always and rest assured that there is new life eventually

A most interesting way to flower and spread. A variety of Agave in my neighborhood and a well kept garden behind.

I guess the current owners have decided to do major re-landscaping or the Home Owner”s Association made them do it 😐 Sometimes change must be endured… I am anticipating what they will do next…
